This phase is true: the most important thing in social media (SNS) marketing is perseverance.
This applies to both free SNS tools like Facebook and Instagram, as well as blogs. When starting a business or a store, many people, actually about two out of three, consider using blogs or SNS to attract customers. They might even design their homepage to include SNS buttons for platforms like Facebook and Twitter, just like big companies do.
But then what happens?
Can you, like large companies, update all those SNS accounts multiple times a day, consistently, and for years? Can a small company with only a few people realistically handle that?
The same goes for blogs. Many people are inspired by stories of successful customer acquisition through blogs and try to replicate that. However, starting a company blog requires consistent updates—at least once a month. If you can’t manage that, the blog won’t attract customers; instead, it may leave a negative impression of neglect or unprofessionalism. Unfortunately, only a small number of people are able to maintain this level of commitment.
In the end, perseverance is the most critical element of SNS marketing. You need to make the decision to commit and stick with it for at least three years. It’s no easy feat to stay consistent for that long without strong determination.
Even in this age of cutting-edge digital tools, an old-school, Showa-era mindset of unwavering persistence remains essential.
