That\u2019s a given. Whether it\u2019s one hundred out of one hundred companies or people, the reality is the same\u2014effort alone doesn\u2019t mean much. This isn\u2019t school. If results don\u2019t follow, businesses fail and employees are left without security.<\/p>\n<p>That said\u2026<\/p>\n<p>In Japan, it\u2019s rare to hear someone say, \u201cWe\u2019re result-oriented.\u201d Maybe it\u2019s because it\u2019s so obvious that there\u2019s no need to say it out loud.<\/p>\n<p>When we work with international clients, however, we often hear the phrase, \u201cOur company is result-oriented.\u201d It feels like a kind of standard line, something that doesn\u2019t really need to be stated. What\u2019s more, international companies frequently ask for specific projections when discussing proposals. They\u2019ll say things like, \u201cIf we execute this, what kind of numbers can we expect? Please give us specific figures.\u201d This kind of direct request for measurable outcomes isn\u2019t as common among  Japanese domestic clients.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, emphasizing measurable results and setting concrete targets is perfectly reasonable in business. At the same time, the fact that Japanese companies rarely say \u201cwe\u2019re result-oriented\u201d out loud might reflect a cultural sense of modesty or restraint\u2014a kind of unspoken understanding that results are simply expected without needing to be declared.<\/p>\n<p>When negotiating or collaborating with international counterparts, it\u2019s important to recognize this difference. Understanding that a \u201cresult-oriented\u201d mindset is explicitly expressed abroad\u2014but often silently assumed in Japan\u2014can help prevent miscommunication and build smoother business relationships.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In business, everyone is result-oriented.
